Dr. Vishal Sorathiya is working as an Assistant professor in Electronics and communication engineering department (PIET) at Parul University, Vadodara, India, since June 2022. He is also deputed to Scientific Communication, Outreach and Public Engagement (SCOPE) cell as scientific public relation officer. He worked as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Information and Communication Technology, Marwadi University, for 8 years and 9 months. He obtained PhD in Electronics and Communication from Marwadi University. He has received a Master’s degree in electronics and communication from Marwadi Education Foundation’s Group of Institute (GTU), Rajkot India. He has received his B. E (Electronics and Communication) degree from VVP Engineering College (GTU). He is working on various research topics such as antenna design, metamaterial structures, photonics crystal-based logical circuits, highly efficient solar cells, graphene-based metamaterial structure, graphene-based polarizers, frequency selective surfaces, AI in photonics, and machine learning. He has published more than 110 various reputed SCI/SCIE/Scopus indexed journals (Nature, Springer Elsevier, Wiley, IOP, IEEE, De Gruter) and conference proceedings papers on the topic of the antenna, metamaterial, polarizers, solar cell, leaky-wave antenna, optical coupler, optical logic gate, etc. He has published 6 books/book chapters on various topics of photonics, THz devices and Machine learning. He was associated with different international conferences as National/International Advisory board member, technical committee member and reviewer. He was an active member of the core team, Marwadi University, Entrepreneur Development Centre. He chiefly encourages, ignites, and fosters the novel idea of providing government/institute funding. Apart from academics and research, he serves as an NSS (National Service Scheme) program officer at Marwadi University. He was also working to facilitate various social and outreach activities for the adopted villages by Marwadi University patrons. He has also filed several patents on different novel ideas researched by him. He is the recipient of the honourable mentioned travel grant award to visit the 2019 IEEE APS-URSI symposium in Atlanta, USA. He is also a certified incubator manager, T-Hub, Telangana, Hyderabad (T – Tribe, Kickstart Program, cohort – 1). He also receives an international engineering educator certificate from Indo Universal Collaboration for Engineering Education (IUCEE) and the International Society for Engineering Pedagogy (IGIP). He is also a professional origami artist.
