The establishment of a pharmaceutical technology lab within the Research and Development department of the university stands as an instrumental hub for a multitude of critical purposes. It serves as the epicenter for pharmaceutical formulation development, where innovative drug delivery systems are meticulously researched and developed. This dedicated space adopts a culture of innovation, nurturing research initiatives that transcend conventional boundaries, fostering multidisciplinary collaborations that spark transformative solutions. By securing and executing granted projects, the lab operates at the forefront of real-time challenges in drug delivery systems, offering practical, real-world solutions. Furthermore, the collaborative environment nurtures synergistic endeavors between academia and industry, accelerating the translation of scientific discoveries into solid advancements that redefine the framework of pharmaceutical technology.
Equipment Details
Ongoing Project
1.Development of paediatric friendly immediate release pelletized solid dispersion of poorly soluble
drug using extrusion-spheronization technique
2.Development of gastroretentive floating microsponges of cephalosporin antibiotics for
Paediatric patients
3.Designing of in-situ gel nanoemulsion based intranasal formulation for treatment of
depression
Applications
1. It is used for coating and drying of granules and microparticles
2. It is used for performing the dissolution study of solid dosage forms
3. It is used in nanotechnology for evenly dispersing nanoparticles in liquids and for breaking
down particles
to nano size.
4. It is used to do the sterile filling and sample preparation and to protect lab samples from
contamination.
5. It allows the qualitative and quantitative analysis of components dissolved in liquid samples
6. It is also known as freeze-drying. It is used to remove water from a sample to stabilize a drug,
or
biological sample without changing any characteristics of the product, allowing for preservation,
thereby
increasing the shelf life of the drug
